Events
At the Shafer Center, we work closely with the community to bring awareness to social issues. We do this through fun and interactive ways which involve the community. Check out some of the event's we have done with our community partners! If you're interested in any of these events, want to host as event, etc. Please contact us at: Shafercenter@aol.com

Every year the Shafer Center actively participates in the National Crime Victim Rights Week. This national event provides awareness for victim's rights and places attention to the need for a community multidisciplinary approach. Every year, The Shafer Center, along with other community partners and resources, accept a proclamation from the mayor, stating the city's full support in ensuring victim rights and calling attention and needed change towards sexual assault.

We love to work with our community and join together where we work on events such as: "Walk a Mile in Her Shoes", "What were you wearing?","The Clothesline Project", "Take Back The Night", educational booths, Shafer Rocks project and Pine Belt Quilters, that donate quilts to survivors.
